A number of factors will affect how quickly your hops get started, including the variety and their growing conditions.

We check all plants for viable shoots before we send them out and you should start to see shoots emerge from the ground by the end of April, but if your plant is in a shady spot do wait a little longer.

If you are concerned you can lift your plant gently out of the ground to have a look at it.

Give your plant a rinse to clear away any soil. The roots and crown should be firm. If you see shoots you can replant it straight away.
