We do hope you’ve had a wonderful festive season and the new year has started well for you. For most, it’s a time to make new resolutions, aspire to new goals and look forward to the year ahead; that’s certainly what we’ve been doing this January here at the farm with a full schedule of events and workshops starting with our brand new ‘Create Your Own Wedding Flowers’ workshop in February.

Speaking of weddings, January is also a busy month for wedding flowers and Valentine’s bouquets, usually as new year brides prepare for their special day later in the year or bouquets of roses for that someone special in your life; either way, we have a variety of new dried flower arrangements and wedding collections; both in store at the farm and on our websites.

The coming year will also see the return of our popular farm events and picking experiences like Sunflowers and pick your own hops; so be sure to visit our website and sign-up for notifications – we’ll then remind you in good time!

As we look forward to spring, let’s not forget that winter IS the best time to get your hop plants in the ground, as they will benefit from the cold weather which brings them to life; it also allows the plant roots to get well-established in the overly wet soil before the spring arrives. So if you are looking to cover up a garden eye-sore, brew your own beer or just love hops around your home! Then we have over 40 varieties available to order right now. (and if you would prefer not to grow your own, then we have plenty of dried garlands available for delivery across the UK).

We’re also still in maintenance mode on the farm, as the poor, very wet weather over December and January has delayed some of our usual preparation and activities, but rest assured we have the teams out every day as we get ready for what we hope will be a great growing season down here at Chalkpit Farm.
